Wrap it up with a bow: As decorative strategies go, it’s a fail-safe, festive effect that’s been proven time and again on gift boxes, tuxedos and all manner of sartorial fare. Now, beribboned accessories flaunt the motif’s full stylistic range. At Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs toes (and heels) the line with a sweet and girly black platform pump adorned with two bows—one gray, one royal blue. Things are more artsy and abstract at Chloé, where a leather bag is graced with a satin strip folded into an origami-style embellishment. Lanvin’s Alber Elbaz also favors the conceptual approach, in this case with a dose of glitz. He reimagines his own signature bow tie in a decidedly feminine form—as a crystal trompe l’oeil choker.
