With Versace’s new baubles, less is most definitely not more. While the house has dabbled in costume jewelry in the past, it ups the ante with this resort stash sprung directly from Donatella Versace’s simple credo: “If one chooses to wear jewelry, it should be a statement and recognizable.” Thus the 40-piece collection emphasizes grand proportions. A dusty golden cuff and an enormous cobalt cocktail ring are obvious examples, while even a smaller rhinestone bangle embellished with a single flower has a bling-y, look-at-me quality. But the most ostentatious of the bunch has to be the brushed metal necklace. With its dangling sundial-like gems punctuated by a generous chandelier, it looks perfect for a modern-day maharani.
