Before an international modeling career came calling, Nicole Trunfio spent her teen years in her Australian hometown of Perth, contemplating a legal career (“I love arguing”) and taking jewelry-making classes. Law school didn’t pan out, but now the 26-year-old, who has appeared in campaigns for Karl Lagerfeld, Dolce & Gabbana, and Guess, is making good on those studio hours with the launch of Trunfio, her minimal yet edgy fine-jewelry collection. The line consists of elegantly tough pieces rendered in yellow-gold-, rose-gold-, and black-rhodium-plate sterling silver. The Universe bracelet features a lock closure secured by interchangeable attachments, including a pavé diamond heart; the Three Pyramid knuckle-duster ring wraps around only the back of your fingers, giving the illusion of three studs floating mid-digits.
“I didn’t want to make generic jewelry, and I didn’t want to make massive statement pieces that you would be sick of next season,” Trunfio says. “I wanted to find a happy medium so that it’s a no-brainer for everyone to wear my pieces.”
