Incredibly, there has never been a comprehensive North American survey of the late, canonical American Pop artist Tom Wesselmann until now. “Beyond Pop Art,” on view at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts through October 7, features some 150 works that chronicle Wesselmann’s career, including the iconic female nudes (like Great American Nude No. 53, 1964, left) to which Yves Saint Laurent paid tribute with his 1966 evening gowns.
