While Texas stylists are
notorious for creating gravity-defying coifs,
Douglas goes for a subtler approach. Dallas socialites seek her out for
sexy, touchable volume and sleek event hair. A native of
St. Louis,
Douglas found her
calling as a kid, doing makeovers on her friends in
the
neighborhood. She joined
Frédéric Fekkai when it opened its tony
Highland Park Village outpost in 2007, and is the
only female stylist
at the salon. At 33, Douglas is still a fan of makeovers, often
performing transformative cuts for clients as they embark on new phases
in their lives. “A woman’s
satisfaction with her hair
mirrors her
satisfaction with her life,” she says.
