Need For Speed
After swiftly becoming a fashion set fitness favorite since opening it’s first studio on Manhattan’s Upper West Side nearly five years ago, Soul Cycle enthusiasts demanded a more centrally located spot to sweat. Owners Julie Rice and Elizabeth Cutler have heard their cries and will be opening their seventh location (the five New York area and Miami locations round out the SOUL family) this Saturday in the subway, bus, PATH-train-accessible, Union Square. With larger locker rooms (more shower stalls!), a store-front boutique for their street-to-cycle wear and a spacious 60-bike studio that is doubly equipped for the company’s signature resistance Band class, the new spin center will be the largest out of all it’s NYC counterparts. And an added bonus is the neighboring PUMP Energy Food on 17th street for pre- and post-workout blended juices and protein shakes.
