I fancy myself something of an armchair dermatologist, so I’ve been
testing at-home peels. Peter Thomas Roth Firmx Peeling Gel ($48,
qvc.com) relies on pomegranate and pineapple enzymes to dissolve dead
surface skin cells. Le Métier de Beauté’s is a combo package: First
comes the glycolic- and salicylic-acid-based
Chem60 Pro-Peel, then the
antioxidant-rich Glow10ai Mask ($265,
neimanmarcus.com). Stand over a
sink when you try these—removing them reminds me of peeling Elmer’s Glue
off my hands at camp. Perricone MD Blue Plasma ($95,
sephora.com) is
also enzyme-based (extracted from salmon roe), but you don’t need to
peel or rinse it off, and you can use it every day. And no, it won’t
leave you smelling fishy.
