Ombré has been a hot concept in hair
color for the past few years, but here, the makeup artist Francelle gives the idea a twist, blending two shadows (Covergirl Flamed Out Shadow Pots in Turquoise Glow and Melted Gold) for a fresh take on the smoky eye. The effect is fuzzy and relaxed, rather than color-blocked. But Francelle insists she’s not interested in
the makeup equivalent of bed head. “Blending the colors a lot allows them to settle in, so you get that lived-in look,”
she explains. “It’s not slept-in or messy. I hate the word ‘messy’ in makeup.
Messy means you’ve been crying and mascara is running all over."
