Beauty Tips from a Sports Illustrated Model

Hailey Clauson on her high-low approach to beauty.

Twenty-year-old Hailey Clauson began her career on the runways of Dior and Marc Jacobs and has since made the switch to Sports Illustrated. Here the California girl shares her high-low approach to beauty, workouts and lifestyle.

Your look in three words:
Feminine. Modern. Retro.

Five-minute routine:
Toss my hair in a sleek ponytail, add mascara and lip tint, throw on black jeans, t-shirt, and Nike’s.

Never leave the house without:
Water spray and Chapstick.

Exercise regime:
I train five times a week with my trainer, Jullien Herrera. Our workouts include boxing, jump roping, ab workouts, and leg and booty workouts.

Nutritional lifesaver:
I hate dieting, so eating healthy for me is a lifestyle. It’s all about eating real organic food that’s like lots of greens, fruit, organic lean meats and quinoa. I love drinking lemon water and green juices throughout the day.

Beauty essentials:
For makeup, I love Tarte products. Their foundation gives you that no-makeup-makeup look, which is great for every day.

Skincare secret:
My favorite product ever is Egyptian Magic (the name convinced me to buy it) you can put it on your hair, body and face.

Hair remedy:
I’m all about letting my hair air dry, and putting oil in it to keep it hydrated.

In-tub must-read:
Emails – while trying not to get my phone wet!

Spa-cation at:
Ojai Valley Inn. It’s serene, and reminds me how beautiful nature can be.

Fragrance of choice:
Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb.

Best advice from mom:
Do your best so no one can say you didn’t try.

Best advice from the pros:
Surround yourself with people you love and trust.

Beauty icons:
Verushka

Anything else:
When in doubt, put on a red lip.
