How to Get Flawless Summer Skin
An elite esthetician dishes on the cure for clogged pores, sunburn, and puffy under-eyes.
No one is immune to the skin strains of summer. Here, Le Métier de Beauté’s National Esthetician Anastasia Feklova (that’s her flawless glowing skin pictured above), gives us her tips for beating the heat.
How do you recommend treating summer skin?
It’s very important to wash your skin with a proper cleanser, followed by a refreshing toner, since toner will help to restore natural balance of the skin and close the pores. If your concern is clogged pores, I would suggest using Le Métier Chem Pro60 Peel, a chemical exfoliation with salicylic and glycolic acids, 1-2 times per week. Salicylic acid helps clear pores of dirt, oil, and make up residue and dissolves dead skin cells, while glycolic hydrates skin and adds a natural, beautiful glow.
What about for flushed skin?
For someone who is experiencing flushed skin or inflammation I recommend using Le Métier Glow10ia Mask twice a week (or as needed) to cool and soothe skin, reduce redness and irritation, and also hydrate and firm. Follow with SPF.
Sunburnt skin can also benefit from the mask because it cools on contact. And, of course, it’s crucial to provide skin with a lot of hydration and nourishment after sun exposure. Make sure to apply moisturizer with sun protection and stop exfoliating skin before and after sun exposure (at least 2-4 days).
Finally, what do you suggest for puffy eyes?
For eyes, I suggest using Le Métier Revive Eye Concentrate and the seaweed based Ultra Hydration Eye Mask Duo once or twice a week. Apply the eye cream on the orbital bone by gently tapping the product with your ring finger and make sure to remove excess with facial tissue—too much product can cause puffiness and dark circles.
