W's beauty director shares her favorite arch experts.
I’ve been known to neglect my brows, but two new-and-improved methods of management have me contemplating a bit more diligence. At New York’s Wink Brow Bar, owner Umbreen Sheikh has taken the pain out of the torturous process of threading. “It’s all about the quality of the thread,” she said while shaping my bushy brows into very nice arches. Meanwhile, Dominique Bossavy is actually making me rethink the always petrifying notion of semipermanent makeup. She uses pigment particles (rather than ink) and the finest needles to create lines so skinny that, she told me, “it’s hard to tell what’s real and what’s me.” Having scrutinized the brows of her clients, I can attest to that.
