French sexpot Béatrice Dalle—the Gallic hybrid of Britney Spears and pre-UN Angelina Jolie—is back in the limelight. Since her acclaimed debut in 1986’s Betty Blue, she has been best known for offscreen dramas: shoplifting, drugs and a marriage to convicted rapist Guenaël Meziani, whom she met while filming a movie in a Breton jail. But while some proclaimed her career over, Dalle is proving them wrong. This year her tell-all biography hits shelves, and she’ll star in two films, including a highbrow Claire Simon drama called Les Bureaux de Dieu.
