Robert De Niro’s Greenwich Hotel in New York’s TriBeCa has opened a
Japanese-style spa, where holistic guru Thuyen Nguyen—a well-kept secret
of his jetsetter clients—is the lead practitioner. Locals, however, are
out of luck: The spa is reserved for hotel guests and members of the
Greenwich Hotel Club, composed of the owners’ nearest and dearest, who
will have access to the spa, pool and fitness center plus the exclusive
back room at the hotel’s restaurant. Selection to the club is
spearheaded by the hotel’s owners and De Niro’s daughter, Drena, and
referrals from existing members “will be taken into consideration,” says
a spokesperson, “but there are no guarantees.”
