The Finer Things: Haute Knives

blog_alessi_h.jpg Architects Anna and Gianfranco Gasparini (who together recently completed the Langhe Museum in Italy’s land of wine and truffles) have partnered with the Italian design firm Alessi and The Andrea Berti cutlery workshop to design the ultimate knife set for the cheese obsessed. According to Alberto Alessi, specific blades must be used for different types of cheeses, and this beautifully crafted set covers your bases–from the softest taleggio to a rock hard parmigiano reggiano. A single worker oversees each piece in the collection from start to finish and proudly signs his or her work upon completion.

$400 for the set at alessi-shop.com.
