During the holidays, it’s always good to know someone who can do stunning things with leftovers. In their exhibition “Holiday Services,” at The Hole in New York, artist Katherine Bernhardt and her husband Youssef Jdia, a Moroccan rug-dealer, make semi-abstract visual magic out of cheap fabric scraps, used rugs, and fashion magazine cut-outs. It’s the kind of slapdash, tacky-chic combo that seems like it shouldn’t work, but comes together beautifully.
“Holiday Services” runs through December 28, 2013, at The Hole, 312 Bowery in New York.
