Stalking the Art Set
In his current solo show at Milan’s Lisson Gallery, the Pakistani artist Rashid Rana takes the Baroque and Neo-classical—the masterly paintings of Andrea Solari, Cesare da Sesto, and their brethren—and puts them through an Internet-age filter, aggregating, remixing, and pixelating until the canvases take on new forms. As far as we can tell, there’s no app for that.
“Rashid Rana” runs through March 14, 2014, at Milan’s Lisson Gallery, Via Zenale 3.
