Fakes Are Out
Michael Chow, the venerable restaurateur behind the MR CHOW empire, just won his $1 million dollar court case against competitor Philippe Chow Restaurants, the latter copycat charged with false advertising and unfair business tactics. For the past 40 years, Chow’s celebrated establishments have redefined Asian fine dining in the west, starting in London, then taking on Beverly Hills, Manhattan, Miami and Las Vegas. Winning this lawsuit was a landmark fit for one of MR CHOW’s famous champagne trolleys, and reiterated a said truth: as with handbags, so with restaurants—fakes are out.
