Under the Tuscan Sun

A former 10th-century villa estate where Death in Venice director Luchino Visconti lived for a spell in the sixties with actor Helmut Berger, the newly restored Castello di Casole, near Siena, reopens July 1 as a luxury hotel, with 41 suites, a wine-cellar-turned-spa, an 18th-century chapel, acres of vineyards, and, not least, the Bar Visconti—a stylish watering hole worthy of the property’s cinematic past.
