Keep an eye out for up-and-comers Jackson, Johnston and Roe. Designing together under their grandfathers’ surnames for the past five years, this trio of Brooklyn-based artists and childhood friends–Sara Moffat, Teo Griscom and Riley Salyards–is gaining momentum. Their simple, elegant women’s line is cut from bamboo, linen, silks, fine wools and cottons imported from Italy and Portugal. Bashful blouses, high-waisted shorts, knickers and jumpsuits comprised their spring collection. For fall, cropped coats, fitted skirts, handsome stripes and organic prints evoked a graceful, sophisticated air.
The clothing, homegrown in New York City, is available in boutiques in Brooklyn, downtown Manhattan and San Francisco. Come fall, look for JJR at Saks and Steven Alan.
