Topshop? Not So Soon.
Topshop fans were in for a disappointment when the trendy Brit bargain retailer announced they were postponing the opening of its first U.S. location in New York’s SoHo, originally scheduled for November, due to construction delays. “This has been a logistical nightmare,” Sir Philip Green, Topshop’s owner, told WWD. “America is a new territory for us and we have to get it exactly right.” When finished, the four-floor, 40,000-square-foot emporium will feature a DJ booth, a VIP suite, personal stylists and a home-delivery service. Special collections, including lines from Kate Moss, Markus Lupfer and Peter Jensen, will also be available. “It will be London transferred to New York,” promises Green.
