Roberto Cavalli: Doggy Style

March 2009

Dogs are man’s best friend, but at casa Roberto Cavalli, the designer’s wife, Eva, is the most passionate animal lover. The couple have two monkeys, seven parrots, three cats, one iguana and more horses than they care to count. They also have a Saint Bernard and two bichons frises. Eva’s animal instincts inspired her husband’s latest endeavor, Roberto Cavalli Pets.

A look from the Roberto Cavalli Pets collection.

“Roberto and I have always loved animals; we have so many of them around the house,” Eva said. “It came as a natural conclusion, therefore, to bring a bit of our style to the canine universe.”

True to Cavalli, the collection—designed for small and medium-size dogs—offers such extravagances as satin-trimmed bathrobes, printed silk shorts, velour tracksuits, and puffer and shearling jackets. Accessories include quilted dog carriers and patent-leather collars and leashes. “Who doesn’t love dogs?” Eva said. “They’re reliable, faithful and caring. I could not imagine my house without them or our other animals. They’re true members of the family.”
