Ferragamo Goes Custom

blog_Angelina_01.jpgIn her latest thriller, The Tourist, costarring Johnny Depp, Angelina Jolie took on the familiar role of the disarmingly ladylike yet totally intimidating action hero—with a custom pair of Ferragamo pumps to match. The collaboration (dubbed the “Elise” after Jolie’s character) between the Florentine maison and Oscar-winning costume designer Colleen Atwood is a fitting marriage of classic, refined lines and an elegantly wicked metal stiletto heel. “The gold metal heels were my favorite shoes,” says Jolie. “They helped me feel sexy.”

blog_Aneglina_02.jpg “Ferragamo designed the ‘Elise’ shoe for us in two heel heights, as well as with and without platforms, depending on the scene,” says Atwood. “We had amazing shoes in luxury suede, kid, and beautiful satin and sequin combinations.” And if you want to take the look home, the beige suede and black leather versions of the “Elise,” complete with metal heel, are being sold in limited release in select stores worldwide to coincide with the launch of the film earlier this month.

But if you are hoping for a more personalized look, this month Ferragamo is also unveiling the new Red Carpet project—their first made-to-order line. Customers can pick from six different shoe models, from sandals to pumps, 23 shades of satin and even add a monogram for an utterly custom pair.
