“My boyfriend, Vlad, wanted to ride bikes in Venice Beach and told me I
had to bring comfy clothes. I said, ‘I don’t have comfy clothes’—but I
did have leopard jeans, and I went to Niketown to get some sneakers and
then had to buy this supertouristy sweatshirt. I felt so American,
riding a bike dressed like that. I’m practicing ‘chilling.’ ”
