Viewfinder: Holly Andres

I met photographer Holly Andres last year in her hometown of Portland, and have been taken by her work ever since. Some of my favorite shots are from Sparrow Lane—a series of lush 1970s stylized images of young girls on a hunt for answers—opening a mysterious glowing drawer, turning a key outside a forbidden bedroom—and always mischievously flirting with danger. “The series represents the potential loss of innocence,” she writes.

Next up for Andres is a show at Jackson Fine Art in Atlanta from July 26 through September 8 featuring her newest body of work “The Fall of Spring Hill.”
