Gowns with a Purpose

When Alberta Ferretti presented her Pre-Fall and demi-couture collections last Thursday, the designer took a different approach from the prosaic Milk Studio-appointment. First, she moved things West, as in Los Angeles, choosing the Chateau Marmont as her home base. Taking advantage of the pre-Golden Globes atmosphere, she turned the double-runway show into a full dinner, and invited celebs like Selena Gomez, Kate Beckinsale and Anna Kendrick while fashion world veterans Kirsten Owen, Liberty Ross and Eugenia Silva took their own star turns on the catwalk. The evening benefited the Jordan River Foundation, the non-profit founded by Her Majesty Queen Rania of Jordan.
