Corinne Foxx: It Trend, It Girl
This Hollywood progeny leads with ladylike style.
At just 19, Corinne Foxx, the daughter of the actor Jamie Foxx, is a certified Hollywood veteran. Growing up in Los Angeles, she visited her dad on his numerous sets (including The Jamie Foxx Show, on which she had a cameo when she was 6) and frequented premieres of age-appropriate films. When Foxx was in the fifth grade, she attended the Academy Awards, walking the red carpet in a white princess dress with matching gloves and a tiara. And this year alone, she accompanied her father to the Golden Globes, the Image Awards, and the MTV Movie Awards, dressed in Azzedine Alaïa, Juan Carlos Obando, and Kimberly Ovitz, respectively. “My dad will text me, ‘Will you be my date to this? Will you be my date to that?’ I’m like, ‘Dad, I think you need a girlfriend!’ ” Foxx says. Despite her high-profile appearances, she insists, “I never like attention. I feel uncomfortable with it and always have.” Still, that shyness hasn’t kept her from pursuing acting: Foxx, who is a sophomore at the University of Southern California majoring in public relations and minoring in cinematic studies, says she’d love to land a TV role. She’s clearly not intimidated by that world; if anything, it’s her sorority social schedule that she finds challenging. “I don’t have a stylist at school,” she says. “When I’m with my dad, he likes to schmooze everyone, and I just sit there and take pictures. At my sorority events, you have to be on.”
