How to Be a Tokyo It Girl By the Time You're a High School Sophomore
Mademoiselle Yulia loves Haribo gummy bears and dying her own hair. Also, pro tip: don't leave the house without a Sailor Moon compact.
Mademoiselle Yulia, 28, was an It girl in Tokyo by the time she was a high school sophomore and has held that title ever since. However, she’s graduated from her days as the lead singer in a punk band to sitting front-row at Dior (her Harajuku-influenced style and bright hair is pure street-style gold), appearing in ads for Stella McCartney, DJ-ing some of the hippest fashion parties (like Jeremy Scott’s, who considers her a muse), and designing her jewelry label Giza and her clothing label Growing Pains.
Today, Yulia presented her fall collection for Growing Pains, which highlights her love of meshing pretty and punk, at Tokyo Fashion Week. Just before, the multi-hyphenate phenomenon shared her favorite places to shop and dance in Tokyo, as well as her go-t0 Japanese beauty products and snacks.
