Right on Time
Traditionally, first anniversaries are marked with paper. Tiffany & Co. and Patek Philippe, however, have much more luxurious materials at their disposal. To commemorate the one-year anniversary of the Patek Philippe salon in Tiffany’s New York flagship, the two companies are debuting a cobranded, limited-edition diamond and gold wristwatch in April.
Tiffany requested a timepiece with an Art Deco sensibility, so Patek Philippe modeled the design after its Thirties-influenced Gondolo style. Special features include a guilloche-patterned dial, stylized Arabic numerals and 164 diamond accents. An 18-karat white gold curved tonneau case and a black alligator band complete the look. Only 100 watches, priced at $21,800 each, were produced. Half have black dials; the other half, white. Because of the limited availability—and because the watch face bears both the Patek Philippe and Tiffany & Co. signatures—it’s sure to excite collectors. “We’re a bit fearful that it could sell out before it gets to the store,” said Jon King, Tiffany’s executive vice president.
