Play It Loud: Molami’s Fashion-Forward Headphones
For those who prefer a carefully crafted playlist to screeching subway brakes, headphones demand as much consideration when it comes to selecting the right pair as your footwear. The preponderance of Beats by Dr. Dre headphones on any given train car is evidence enough that music lovers are willing to invest in cool sound equipment, but sometimes those big plastic logos just can’t do your outfit justice.

Enter Molami, the Swedish company founded by industrial designer Maria von Euler. Melding quality output with luxurious styling, Molami offers three variations on the clunky, foam-covered original. Their Bight earbud comes covered in napa or stingray leather with silver and gold accents, resembling an oversized rosebud earring. The Twine style is a silk-satin and chiffon laurel-like headpiece with adjustable speakers embedded on its underside. And the Pleat headphone takes a more classic, over-the-ear shape, only covered with delicately folded napa leather.

The best part? Molami is now available in the US for the first time at the Fivestory boutique on the Upper East Side and on ShopBop (from $200 to $450).
