Him: Industrial design mogul, 47 Her: Fashion stylist and former model, 40 Status: Married in 2008 in London (she wore Azzedine Alaïa) Home: A 120,000-square-foot spread, designed by Newson, in London’s Howick Place, and a second pad in Paris Kin: Three-year-old daughter Imogen Hobbies: While Stockdale collects vintage clothes, Newson collects vintage cars, including an Aston Martin, a Lamborghini, a Ferrari, and a Cisitalia. The two race often and once drove the Aston Martin from London to Greece. Lineage: Newson was raised by his mother in Sydney, at one point living in a beachfront hotel that she managed. Stockdale is the daughter of English baronet Sir Thomas Stockdale and granddaughter of a former lord mayor of London, Sir Edmund Stockdale. FYI: Newson’s Lockheed Lounge chaise longue sold for a record-breaking $2 million at Phillips de Pury in May.

Her: Fashion designer, 39 Him: Founder of creative consulting firm Announcement and furniture company Established & Sons, which he recently departed, 40 Status: Married in 2003 at Mount Stuart House on Scotland’s Isle of Bute; McCartney and Tom Ford designed the bride’s wedding gown to resemble her mother’s. Home: A town house in London’s Notting Hill and a 250-acre spread in southern England How They Met: At a business meeting—he was the label consultant; she was the designer. “We literally have not been parted from that day,” he told The New York Times in 2007. Kin: Three children (Miller, Bailey, and Beckett), with number four due in late fall Current Projects: His: rebranding David Beckham. Hers: launching Stella McCartney Kids.

Her: Actress, 29 Him: Choreographer and principal dancer at New York City Ballet, 33 Status: Dating Home: According to gossip reports, Portman, who has a $3 million mini mansion in Los Angeles, has been apartment hunting in Millepied’s hometown of New York. How They Met: On the set of Darren Aronofsky’s Black Swan, in the spring of 2009. In addition to choreographing the actors, Millepied scored a part as Portman’s dance partner. Tabloid fodder: In January the New York Post reported that Millepied was still living with his ballerina girlfriend, Isabella Boylston, when he fell for Portman. hangouts: Urth Caffé in L.A.; Lincoln Center.

Her: Artist and filmmaker, 43 Him: Actor, 20 Status: Engaged Home: Taylor-Wood’s $17.6 million London town house How They Met: Johnson starred as John Lennon in Taylor-Wood’s feature directorial debut, 2010’s Nowhere Boy. Of their 23-year age difference, Johnson has said, “I’m an old soul, and she’s a young soul.” Kin: Daughter Wylda Rae was born in July; Taylor-Wood’s two daughters (by ex-husband Jay Jopling) also live with them. Tabloid Fodder: While the May-December romance has received its fair share of criticism, Taylor-Wood, who survived two bouts of cancer, has fought back, calling her detractors “sexist.” Her ex- husband, after all, spent part of last year lip-locked with Lily Allen, who is 22 years his junior.

Her: Model, 22 Him: Interior designer and decorative painter, 30 Status: The couple had a fairy-tale wedding in June at Château de Challain in France. She wore Zac Posen; he wore Dior Homme. “We are two sappy fools in love,” Conran tweeted. How They Met: Rocha hired Conran to do design work on her condo in New York’s Gramercy Park. She told Canada’s National Post that he captured the essence of who she is. Home: The same apartment where they fell in love, though it’s currently for sale. FYI: Recently Conran swapped paintbrush for video camera, documenting behind-the-scenes footage of his new bride at work. “People just love it,” she notes on her blog, ohsococo.blogspot.com, where the videos can be seen.

Stipe: Musician and artist, 50 Dozol: Photographer, 35 Status: Dating Home: An apartment–artist’s studio in TriBeCa How They Met: At the Cannes film festival in 1998. Dozol was there on vacation; Stipe was a producer of Velvet Goldmine. Usually Found At: Art openings, EN Japanese Brasserie, downtown dinner parties. Current Projects: Dozol: a show of posterlike photographs opening at New York’s Envoy Enterprises in February. Stipe: an R.E.M. album due out next spring. “We both work from home,” says Dozol, “so we’re constantly asking each other for advice.”
