The Best Dressed 21-and-Under Front-Rowers at Chanel

Chanel : Front Row - Paris Fashion Week Womenswear Fall/Winter 2016/2017

Karl Lagerfeld has a way of tapping the Next Big Thing before the rest of us have even registered the name. See: Lily Rose Depp. True to form, at Chanel‘s fall show this morning, the Kaiser invited a crew of up-and-comers, all aged 21 and below. Consider these the names to know for the year ahead.

1

At 15, Willow Smith has already charmed the fashion world, and, as the youngest artist signed to Jay Z’s record label Roc Nation, is well on her way in the music industry too. Her debut album “ARDIPITHECUS” dropped in December and was met with mixed reviews, but who cares when you have the high praise of the Kaiser?

16-year-old French actress Lily Taieb made her film debut in 2007, in “The Fourth Piece of the Woman Cut in Three,” which was written and directed by the well-known French actress Laure Marsac. Last year she appeared in “Three Memories of My Youth,” for which Arnaud Desplechin received his first César Award for Best Director.

3

Halsey, whose full name is Ashley Nicolette Frangipane, released her debut album, “Badlands,” in August 2015. Earlier that year, she was dubbed the most-Tweeted about artist at South by Southwest, ahead of even Miley Cyrus. The singer-songwriter identifies herself as “tri-bi,” because she is biracial, bisexual and bipolar.

Thylane Blondeau began modeling at the age of four, walking in Jean Paul Gaultier’s runway show. Her claim to fame thus far, though, stems from that controversial Vogue Enfants shoot that Carine Roitfeld styled for French Vogue in 2011. In it, she smeared on lipstick, wore high heels, and lounged on a tiger fur.

At this point, Hudson Kroenig practically needs no introduction–he’s been walking in Chanel’s runway shows since he was two. (Hudson’s dad Brad Kroenig has been somewhat of a muse to Karl since 2003. Karl is Hudson’s godfather.) Now age eight, he’s already been in the biz for longer than some models double or triple his age.
