Revisit Danielle Sherman's Best Designs for Edun
On Monday, Danielle Sherman effectively added herself to the ever-growing list of designers departing from their labels with an announcement that she was parting ways from Edun, where she's been creative director since 2013. With her experience at The Row, which she helped launch, and five years at T by Alexander Wang, Sherman managed to give the brand a sophisticated spin while still sticking to the ethical roots that Bono and his wife, Ali Hewson had in mind when they founded it in 2005. Her first collection, for example, spring 2014, was a playful mix of handwoven panels and prints, while her last, fall 2016, was a decidedly more feminine showing that marked over 90% of the line's production with local workers in Africa – made all the better when Sherman took a bow with her seven-week-old baby. Revisit those moments and more highlights, here.
