Private Parts

The summer heat has everyone baring more skin, but some parts are better left to the imagination—specifically, the imaginations of artists Piotr Uklanski, Judy Chicago, Wangechi Mutu, and Rohan Weallens. All of them have the same thing on their mind, albeit in four different exhibitions in London, Oslo, and New York.

1

Piotr Uklanski’s “Untitled,” 2013, is part of the group exhibition “Sunsets and Pussy,” at New York’s Marianne Boesky Gallery, on view through August 16, 2013.

2

Judy Chicago’s “Bigamy Hood,” 1965/2011, is part of her solo exhibition “Deflowered,” at Oslo’s Kunstforening, on view through June 30, 2013.

3

Wangechi Mutu’s “Girl Specimen XI,” 2013, is part of the group exhibition “Cinematic Visions: Painting at the Edge of Reality,” at London’s Victoria Miro Gallery, through August 3, 2013.

4

Rohan Weallens’ “Green Jimsonweed,” 2011, is part of the group exhibition “Extravagant Features,” at New York’s C24 Gallery, through June 29, 2013.
