Don’t Miss: Juergen Teller: Woo
The subjects in photographer Juergen Teller’s new show at London’s ICA are fully exposed: a 68-year-old Vivienne Westwood reclining nude in a large triptych, Lily Cole naked in a garbage heap in India, but also a famously reclusive Bjork floating in Iceland’s Blue Lagoon with her son, and charming images of Teller’s own infant son, Ed. This is Teller’s first solo UK show in a decade, and its title, “Woo,” seems to wink at his unique ability to access and amplify these remarkably unguarded moments. Though to be sure, there’s plenty of humor in the mix: Kate Moss in a wheelbarrow, his iconic shot of Victoria Beckham’s legs popping out of a Marc Jacobs bag, his mother with the jaws of a crocodile, and even smoking cat.
Juergen Teller: Woo is on view at the Institute of Contemporary Arts, London through March 17.
