For Balmain’s Spring 2017 collection, designer Olivier Rousteing did away with the elaborate embellishments that have earned him red carpet fans like Kanye West and the Kardashian clan — who also sat front row, yet again, this season. In place of the elaborate beading, though, was a rainbow of color, though still within the purview of the Balmain look: plenty of bold slits and cutouts, bodysuits, and club-ready dresses. It was daring by conventional standards, but totally on par with the looks we’ve come to expect from Rousteing’s Balmain.
