Marcel Dzama

Art and literature are undeniably intertwined—especially in the work of artist Marcel Dzama, whose paintings often take on a narrative element. This week, Dzama shares his love of fiction by auctioning off a curated collection of works by contemporary artists to benefit the New York chapter of author David Eggers’ creative writing-focused charity, 826NYC. Located at David Zwriner’s 19th Street gallery and co-hosted by Paddle8, the auction is staged like an exhibition featuring pieces by both Dzama and artists like Jules de Balincourt, Raymond Pettibon, and Yutaka Sone. Here, a couple of highlights.
