Met Gala 2017: The 12 Best-Dressed Men on the Red Carpet
At most red carpet events, the guys’ only job is to stand quietly by while their girlfriends look cute during the step and repeat. But the Met Gala allows more freedom, especially if you’re flying solo. From Rami Malek, never afraid to be an iconoclast and channeling Monday night’s red hue in honor of Rei Kawakubo, to Sean “Diddy” Combs, regal and monastic at once in perfectly-attuned Rick Owens, the red carpet at the Costume Institute’s Comme des Garçons-themed gala was a show of display for men who are tired of simple black-tie ensembles, and chose to bring some flair to men’s otherwise pro-forma red carpet duties. Just take a cue from Jaden Smith, who brought his own chopped locks to the party as his date. Here, a rundown of the best of the rest among the Met Gala’s guys.
