For W’s glamorous globe-trotter, Giovanna Battaglia, it’s a fab, fab world.

“I was in Venice to see the Biennale and other exhibitions happening all over the city. It was like Fashion Week, only with art. To get around, I rented a private water taxi. One of the things I checked out was the famous Peggy Guggenheim Collection, which inspired my own bohemian Peggy Guggenheim moment in a Vita Kin dress.”

“The Vitraria Glass + A Museum, in Venice, had a fantastic show of jewelry designed by artists. This necklace was created by Louise Bourgeois in 1948. Doesn’t it look so current? It could be something from a Céline collection.”

3

“I spotted this yarn sculpture in New York’s SoHo. In her Yves Saint Laurent Piet Mondrian–style dress, she’s the ultimate street-style star.”

4

“Jewelry designer Noor Fares and artist Alexandre Al Khawam had the most fashionable wedding in Normandy, which included a 1,001 Arabian Nights party. My boyfriend, Oscar, and I , Bianca Brandolini d’Adda, and Alix Duvernoyrose to the costume challenge!”

The French artist Martial Raysse had an exhibition at the Palazzo Grassi, on the Grand Canal. He is considered by some to be a pioneer of Pop art. I just love this painting. She looks so chic with those oversize glasses and turban. I would gladly steal her outfit.”

6

“The Central Pavilion at the Venice Biennale had this amazing installation by Fabio Mauri. That’s pretty much how I pack when I travel.”

7

“The hairstylist Dennis Lanni used the coolest rollers on a shoot— and he made them himself! They remind me of a Mike Kelley sculpture. I wish we could have left them in the model’s hair for the actual photograph.”
