What’s more fun than a flight of fanciful gems? De Grisogono has budding beauties of the bejeweled variety covered. Its floral studs range from playful, with a yellow diamond and emerald buttercup motif, to refined, as in a mismatched pair that channels the rue Cambon, with petals crafted from black and white diamonds. While those take care of flora, at VBH, Bruce Hoeksema is inspired by fauna. His black diamond butterfly brooch, its wings curled to points, exudes gothic romance. And Faraone Mennella’s one-of-a-kind fifth-anniversary Ice Princess necklace, replete with diamonds and 250 carats of aquamarines, is “a little bit outrageous,” says cofounder Amedeo Scognamiglio. “We wanted to make something fit for a queen.”
