Whoever green-lit the location was onto something: where better for Sofia Coppola, Consuelo Castiglioni and H&M's Margareta Van Den Bosch to co-host the hotly-anticipated unveiling of the Marni x H&M collaboration than at Sowden House, Frank Lloyd Wright's famed architectural masterpiece in Los Angeles. "Its like a jungle in here" professed Hanneli Mustaparta of the Mayan-esque surroundings, waving a palm branch out of her way. Meanwhile Jessica Chastain waxed lyrical of the brand collaboration, likening her appreciation for the clothes to the great Joan Crawford quote: "To sum it up best I'll say this: If you're looking for the girl next door then go next door." Shirley Manson agreed. "I don't have a problem with the sparkly stuff" she added, "and Marni definitely does it best."
Then the music started. Sofia Coppola, together with French comrades including Thomas Mars, Odile Gilbert, Alexandre de Betak and Andre Saraiva, sat front and center as Bryan Ferry took to the stage (back-up dancers and all), performing a perfect-pitch set that comprised "Slave to Love", "Don't Stop the Dance", "Avalon" and the crowd favorite, "More Than This." And so it was.
