Galas, Operas, and designer-perfume launches keep New York’s social set swirling.
Fashion brands love a photo op, and New York boldfacers love a camera. Why not combine the two? Yves Saint Laurent injected a bit of youthful cool into the Metropolitan Opera’s opening night of Manon. Among Met matriarchs like Barbara Walters, Ann Ziff, and Mercedes Bass was a Golden Globes–worthy room of celebs: January Jones (minus the fat suit), Chloë Grace Moretz, and Emma Roberts, to name a few. Not to be left behind, Salvatore Ferragamo enlisted It girls galore (the Richards sisters, Charlotte Ronson, Michelle Harper) to toast its new fragrance, Signorina, at a dinner and afterparty at Julian Schnabel’s Palazzo Chupi building, where I Blame Coco (aka Coco Sumner) performed. And Giorgio Armani lured Liam Neeson to the Museum of the City of New York’s Winter Dance, where Neeson said of his outfit: “Everything’s Armani—including the underwear.”
