Peter Lindbergh’s Model Mayhem
Vladimir Restoin Roitfeld presented the fashion photographer’s most iconic images to a beautiful crowd
What: A reception celebrating Peter Lindbergh’s new exhibition
When: Saturday, September 7
Where: Vladimir Restoin Roitfeld’s intimate Upper East Side project space.
Who: Supermodels—including Linda Evangelista, Karolina Kurkova, Alek Wek, Crystal Renn, and Alessandra Ambrosio—joined fashion editors Carine Roitfeld, Franca Sozzani, and Stephen Gan in drinking champagne and exploring the large-scale photos icons like Kate Moss, Christy Turlington, and Amber Valletta that lined the walls of the gallery. But, to be honest, there were too many supermodels in attendance to name them all. Lindbergh even joked that if all of his girls had in fact shown up, “we would need a much bigger space.” No kidding.
Why: For Lindbergh and his models, it was a reunion. “I haven’t seen Linda in ten years,” he explained, “I don’t even remember [the last time].” But time has served both parties well. “Those eyes,” he mused, “I said your eyes are better than they were before.”
