Guy Ritchie, recently reported to be unhappy in his marriage to Madonna, is now becoming a pub landlord. Together with London club supremos Nick House, Piers Adam and Prince William’s good friend Guy Pelly, the director has purchased the Punch Bowl, a cozy tavern in Mayfair. “The concept is a classic 1700s British pub, with some private members’ areas on the upper floors,” says House. The opening is scheduled for June. House and Adam, meanwhile, will expand their boozy empire later this year with Whiskey Mist in the nearby London Hilton on Park Lane. They’ve drafted Burberry creative director Christopher Bailey to design one of Mist’s VIP bars, while jeweler Theo Fennell has created custom silver drinking vessels and Jade Jagger has designed the membership keys.
