While there were plenty of Millennial models-slash-scions running around the Metropolitan Musuem of Art on Monday night taking in their first Met Gala (see: Sofia Richie, Presley Gerber, Sistine Stallone, Paris Jackson, et al.), there were also a huge contingency of established supers overseeing the proceedings. Among them: Candice Swanepoel and Behati Prinsloo, who were both dressed in Topshop and posed arm-in-arm most of the evening.

Both Victoria’s Secret models recently gave birth to their first child; Prinsloo, with husband Adam Levine, in September 2016, and Swanepoel just weeks later. But on Monday evening, the duo proved they can still serve looks just as well as the teens, in two varying looks on the theme.

Behati, in a nude silk crepe body-skimming gown with fitted bodice and folded cup details, described her dress to W on the red carpet, saying: ““I wanted something simple, kind of bondage, with a feminine twist.” Swanepoel, on the other hand, opted for something a bit more classic: a black silk Gazar gown with corseted bodice and couture folded skirt creating a dramatic silhouette. “Working with Topshop on collaborating, we were excited to give homage to Commes de Garçons,” said the model. “I was looking for a change from years past, and a nod to Rei Kawakubo.”

It certainly was a departure from Swanepoel previous Met Gala ensembles, which include a body-conscious metallic Michael Kors dress in 2015 and an electric blue sheath with sheer panels by Rag & Bone in 2012. However, Swanepoel said the change in style is unrelated with becoming a mom. “My style has not changed much,” she said, adding that her beauty routine has seen the biggest overhaul. “While breast feeding I use a lot less, and all natural. But other than that, no different than my usual little eyeliner, little brow, and a little matte lip.”
