Hair and makeup came together—literally—at two spring runway shows. Odile Gilbert dipped her brush into the vibrant eye shadows that Lancôme artistic director aaron de mey custom-blended for L’Wren Scott’s presentation (left), painting the models’ side parts to match their lids. A few weeks later at Chanel, sam mcknight embellished parts with deep-black shadow, heightening the drama of makeup artist peter phillips’s smoky eyes. McKnight gives full credit to the Kaiser. “I have to say it was Karl’s idea,” he admits.
