What Do Kmart and Céline Have in Common? Pat McGrath Muse Paloma Elsesser Is a Regular Customer at Both
Plus-size model Paloma Elsesser gained popularity on Instagram from posting candid, personal images of herself. Now, with over 60,000 followers, the Los Angeles native is a regular in glossy fashion magazines, featured in H&M’s fall campaign, and is one of Pat McGrath’s social media muses. But she’s still just a cool girl, who loves shopping at thrift stores.

Favorite vintage stores: L train vintage, Procell, Goodwill.
Style icons: Tupac, Sade, Bianca Jagger.
Style pet peeves: Drop crotch pants, bomber jackets and dad hats.
Best recent discovery: Biologique Recherche Spa and the Kindle.
Last purchase: A Gucci bag with beautiful gold hardware and a timeless color palette.
Lusting after: A green velvet Chanel bag.
Always in your bag: Various purse-sized perfumes, hand lotion, headphones, my wallet, rosebud salve, receipts, a charger, a little notebook.
Something you would never wear: SEQUINS.
Most prized possession in your closet: A snakeskin bowler shirt- best material and I wear it year round.
Favorite shoes you own: Velvet Gucci loafers.
Something you can’t wait to wear this winter: Puffer jackets and sweat suits.

Favorite spots in New York: My bed, Sophie’s Cuban restaurant, the New York City Public Library main branch, Lovely Day.
Favorite spot in Los Angeles: The taco spot on Venice and La Brea, Sqirl, Slauson Swapmeet.
Nighttime look: I don’t do that much different between day and night, like wearing heels, however I will add a bold lip or winged eyeliner. For that, I love PMG labs #Lust004 in Vermillion Venom or MAC’s Ruby Woo. I also love PMG labs Dual Ended Liquid Liner as well as Stila’s classic felt tipped liner – both are incredible for precision and rich black pigment.
Favorite New York stores: No Relation, Kmart, Celine, Stella Dallas.
What makes you feel most confident: A nice shower and taking my time.
Biggest turn-off: The inability to be present and being overly trendy.
Borrowed from the boys: I borrow/adopt a majority of my clothes from boys and men’s fashion. I like the fit better and have always followed the silhouettes. I think men’s silhouettes look fantastic on the female body! I wear mainly men’s pants and jackets.
