Michelle's Tracy Feith Moment

blog_michelle_feith.jpgTracy Feith is a favorite among the W staff, so we were pleasantly surprised to see Michelle Obama wearing a frock from the designer's fall 2008 collection yesterday at the prayer service at Washington National Cathedral. The violet, green and silver black Japanese-style printed dress has a gathered open neckline, ruched cummerbund at the waist and full, gathered skirt. Feith told WWD, "We don't send clothes to people we don't know. I believe she did buy [it]." We hear the dress is still in circulation for about $720.

Below, a portrait of Feith with Susan Winget, his girlfriend and business partner, and their son, Boomer, shot for W in 2006 outside their shop in Montauk, New York.
