Mirror, Mirror, on the Runway

Thumbnail image for ny_FW.jpgblog_jewelry_thakoon_01.jpgThe accessories editors at W can't wait to get their hands on the baubles that jewelry designer Dana Lorenz created for Thakoon's fall runway show. Inspired by the idea of broken disco balls and Art Deco mirrors, Lorenz, who owns the Fenton and Fallon lines, took shards of shattered crystals, circa 1940s Germany, placing them on textured chains to an amazing Ice
Princess-like effect. "The settings ended up looking so crude and medieval," said Lorenz after the show, describing her Fenton for Thakoon collection."And Thakoon loved the way the grittiness and geometric edges looked against his sheer chiffons." We couldn't agree more.
