You weren't able to tour North America with your last album, Odyssey. Are you looking forward to it this time around?I'm excited to get out of the major metropolitan cities and into Middle America. We're doing 24 shows in 28 days across North America and then Europe for six weeks. I just hope somebody shows up!
Have you guys had any major mishaps while on tour?
Well, two years ago this Portuguese airline lost all of our luggage. We were headlining these giant shows in Spain and I ended up doing them in a pair of running shorts and a t-shirt. I'm actually going to have those pieces remade and customized into the show.
Let's talk fashion. What was the inspiration behind the look for this tour?
I was getting back into experimental theater, and that was all about creating confusion between what was costume and what was streetwear. Then I saw this amazing flamenco performance in Malaga, Spain at a very small dive bar and it was incredible. So minimal, so cool with just a couple of performers...
It's hard to think of you guys as minimal—but some of the outfits you wear do look very futuristic.
We started making weird spacesuits based on a sauna suit I bought at Target. The idea is to have this athletic tech-couture, mixing these technical pieces with couture pieces.

Italo Zucchelli from Calvin Klein made us a bunch of stuff that we've been wearing. Y3 sent over stuff and Riccardo Tisci from Givenchy is supposed to be sending a mean outfit this week. Timothy Everest made me two suits—he's kind of doing this Mark Twain in outer space look. Also Jean-Charles de Castelbajac has these amazing suits: one is covered in clouds, another one looks like Legos and then there's one that's polka-dotted. Also, there's this company from Paris, Ruby, that is making polka-dotted helmets for our "outer space flamenco" section.
Sounds like you've got a lot of options.
Yeah, now I just have to figure out how to wear it all!
Entertainment comes out May 5, and the American leg of the tour kicks off in Philadelphia on May 6. Next week, the Paris boutique Colette will be selling limited edition albums bundled with remixes and have a window dedicated to the band.
