Aussie contemporary label Camilla and Marc has been on our radar for some time now, ever since the brother-sister design duo came to New York two years ago for an editor meet-and-greet. Camilla Freeman-Topper and Marc Freeman cut a mean dress—equally spicy and sweet—and their loosely-cut tailoring has the kind of toss-and-go quality we city girls love. Changes, however, are afoot at the six-year-old label, and they've got our interest piqued once again. "Sex, skin and strength—that pretty much sums it up," says Freeman-Topper of the line's edgy, Eighties vibe for spring 2010, which debuted at the recent Rosemount Australian Fashion Week. The two also launched accessories during the show: stylish cut-away patent leather booties and pony skin clutches. Gossipmongers, meanwhile, reveled in other runway news: former prime minister Paul Keating sat front-row with girlfriend Julieanne Newbould, the first time the pair came out together in so public a show. Freeman happens to be dating Keating's daughter Alexander.
There's more: The designers also just opened their first freestanding store (above) on Glenmore Road in Sydney, alongside other Down Under labels like Willow and Sass & Bide.
